2024 Dark Sky Telescope Programs at Hurricane Ridge:​

 A tentative 2025 Schedule will be posted here after New Year's Day.

Dress warmly -- It can be cold at 5242 feet (1598 meters).

The programs are entirely outdoors.  Please be on time for an introduction.

Monday June 24 through Monday July 8 - 11:00 pm

Friday July 26 through Friday August 2 - 10:30 pm

Saturday August 3 through Saturday August 10 - 10:15 pm

Saturday August 24 through Saturday August 31 - 9:30 pm

Sunday September 1 through Thursday September 5 - 9:15 pm

Friday September 6 through Sunday September 8 - 9:00 pm

2024 Full Moon Hikes to Hurricane Hill:

A 3 mile round trip hike.  Meet at the Hurricane Hill trailhead.

The trailhead is a 1.5 mile drive beyond the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center.

Please wear sturdy shoes.  A constellation tour will occur at the top of Hurricane Hill.

Saturday/Sunday  July 20/21 - begins at 9:15 pm

Monday August 19 - begins at 8:30 pm

Tuesday September 17 - begins at 7:30 pm

2024 It's Your Moon! - Telescope Programs

We will use telescopes to look closely at a 10 or 11 day old gibbous moon.  We will

share moon legends, fun facts, and observe features such as seas, craters and mountains.
